Representative LaVar Christensen was elected to the Utah House of Representatives (District 48 in Sandy/Draper) in 2002. His committee assignments include: Vice-Chair of Education, Budget Appropriations for Public Education, Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice; Chair of Judicial Rules Review Committee and member of the Constitutional Revision Commission.

The Utah Soccer Association started the Utah Soccer Hall of Fame in 1997, conducting five members. Currently the Hall of Fame has 21 members of which 17 members are living, most of them residing within Utah. The Utah Soccer Hall of Fame includes five past State Presidents, but most of the members are recognized for their outstanding contributions on the field as part of the Utah Soccer Association. The process of being inducted into the Utah Soccer Hall of Fame has been refined from several people getting together and picking some obvious choices, to what has now become a procedure where current Hall of Fame members review nomination applications and vote for their top choices. This year we will inductee five more members, four of them being players who competed in the 50′s through the 70′s.
